Biophysics, Spectroscopy and Modeling
BSM
Presentation
Our team focuses on structural studies of biomolecules, whose activities are linked to their interactions with various partners (small ligands, sugars, peptides, proteins, nanoparticles) or with cell membranes. Our studies require the ability to manipulate and characterize the biomolecules of interest as well as cell membranes (or membrane models). To achieve this, we employ a range of techniques including isotope labelling, biophysical and spectroscopic approaches (solid and liquid state NMR, circular dichroism, ATR-IR, single-molecule conductance, fluorescence, optical microscopy, AFM, confocal microscopy, expansion microscopy). We also conduct computational simulations (molecular dynamics, augmented sampling methods, Markov State Model) which are used in close association with our experimental observations.
