Another facet of our research activity is devoted to establishing the successive steps of either metabolic or catalytic reactions. In this context, electrochemistry is employed as a method to monitor the fate of electroactive species. In a recent example, we have focused on the mechanistic elucidation of a photoredox catalytic olefin-aldehyde coupling reaction developed by Firmenich company.
